Bangladesh and the Water Well
The water well is more important in Bangladesh than we think. In terms of population, Bangladesh is the second largest Muslim country in the world after Indonesia. It is a small but populous country surrounded by India in South Asia. It borders India and Myanmar. In 1204, a Muslim government was established in the region of Bangladesh by the Turkish commander of Central Asia, “Old Uddin Muhammad bin Bakhtiar Kholji”. It has been listed as Bangladesh since December 16, 1971.
THE IMPORTANCE OF WATER
Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Bangladesh is a coastal country with more than 230 rivers, large and small. In the first quarter of this century, between 35 and 77 million people were exposed to arsenic. Water problems account for 8.5% of all deaths in Bangladesh. They are caused by sanitation (adequate treatment of wastewater and sewage) and sanitation problems. The fact that the water is so polluted is an indication that the water well is an indispensable remedy for Bangladesh.
If No Water Wells Are Found in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) reports that 5.1% of child deaths under the age of five are due to diarrhoea. This rate is 1.2% in newborns.
If no water wells are found in Bangladesh, more than 45,000 children under the age of five die each year from diarrhea caused by polluted water. Water contaminated with microbial impurities increases the risk of diseases such as typhoid, bacillary dysentery, hepatitis A and B. Pollution in surface waters poses a threat to public health in Bangladesh. Another 36 million do not have access to improved and purified water facilities. Millions of people in Bangladesh are struggling with life challenges without access to safe drinking water. Access to drinking water is always important for the health of Bangladeshi families. Acting with the awareness that access to clean water is vital, we continue to work in regions where the need is intense.
At the beginning of our work, of course, we are striving for the opening of water wells .
